Chaska's Journey: From a Tiny Cub to a Majestic Yearling

Chaska the bear cub

From a 4 lb cub at admission to a 185 lb yearling at release, Chaska was an adorable little bear and turned into a perfectly adjusted yearling bear and showed correct behaviour for release. Nathan and staff were very attached to Chaska.

At Critter Care we provide the top tier rehab services for our bears. Allowing them the best chance of survival in the wild. We wish all bears that have been released this past week the best of luck!

Chaska the bear

We would like to thank the general public for the support of these bears, the bear groups for caring so much, the staff members for working long and tirelessly to ensure the best practices of bear rehab and for organizing and releasing of them in perfect locations. And thank you to the volunteers who picked up food for the bears and assisted on the releases and our interns for their hard work!

There are many other people who contribute to the care and aid of all the animals in our care. We are a community that couldn’t do it without each other. Thank you all.
