As a resident of BC, Breanne grew up in Aldergrove with her parents, brother and sister. Her first pet (a hamster) at age 5 began her love of animals. She grew up with a passion for the arts dancing on competitive teams for most of her life and competing in taekwondo tournaments. She as recently found a love for painting and dances on a promotional dance team called The Gabby’s Girls.
Breanne started her career in the animal field at the age of 14 as a care taker on a hobby farm in Langley. She worked with horses, dogs, cats and ducks and also did the landscaping. After high school she began working as the carnivore keeper at a wildlife conservation and breeding centre working with endangered animals from all around the world and fell in love with the African wild dogs. She then moved on to working in a vet clinic that saw everything from mice to tigers.
After a while she decided to go back to school and take a vet assistant course which landed her a job at another clinic. After realizing the veterinary office was not her thing Breanne saw a posting that Critter Care was looking to hire. Remembering the trip to the centre with her mom as a child, Breanne thought Critter Care would be the job for her. One of her first patients was an opossum named Opie, he made her fall in love with the job. She looks forward to many years with the centre and learning new things every day.
