| Our first and only bear cub of the
winter season came to us on October 30, 2005.
She was named "Spooks" in honour of
her arrival the day before Halloween. Spooks was
found in Coquitlam by conservation officers, crying
by her mother's body at the side of the road where
she was hit and killed. Spooks was scared, lonely,
weak, and underweight - only 22 lbs.
|
|
| Five months later, Spooks is a happier,
healthy 80 lb cub who is looking forward to being
released sometime in the spring. For now, she
is content with shredding logs to find grubs and
playing with fish in her pool. |
