In Memory of Paul Burgess    1949 - 2010

altBlowing a kiss, little Monroe said good-bye to her beloved 'Gwampa' on October 21, 2010, shortly before he peacefully passed away from Cancer.

Paul was born in Grace Hospital and raised in North Vancouver. While attending UBC, he met and fell in love with his bride of 36 years, Carolyn (Hatch). Together, they raised Ryan (Lisa) and Suzanne (Graham Robins, Monroe) and Paul showed his devotion to his children through his involvement with Langley Minor Hockey and Langley Ringette. Paul deeply loved his family; walks with Carolyn; cockatiels Kira and Kili;  Rosslini's music; Debussy's 'Claire DeLune'; Pearl Restaurant in White Rock; golf; black licorice; and public television.

He owned Black Tusk Forest Products and befriended many in the industry over the 18 years that he ran the company.

Paul's love of music drew him to piano lessons at the age of 60 and he happily played with his granddaughter snuggled on his lap. Paul was passionate about many things such as equality and democratic rights. He devoted many hours to raising environmental awareness, particularly the Run of the River, as he was concerned about man's impact on the earth. He longed to see hydrogen-powered cars on the streets of Vancouver.

In Memory of Jesse Le Riche

June 7, 1984 - June 17, 2009

altJesse came to know Critter Care by chance. He and his girlfriend, Nikki, found an injured fawn lying in the middle of the road. The little one had been hit by a car and left to die. They bundled him up and brought him to the kind people of Critter Care. That same day was Jesses’ 25th Birthday.

The next day the fawn was placed in heaven due to injuries. Jesse came to us that day and expressed to us how much he loved animals. It is with great sadness I am telling you this story. On June 10th 2009 Jesse was in a fatal accident. He fought for 7 days. He lost his battle on June 17th 2009.

Jesse was our youngest most amazing son. So it is with Jesses’ wish that we hope you will donate to the last cause that touched him so much. We thank you for taking the time to read this memorial. The picture you see of him in this memorial was taken on his 25th Birthday, the day he found the little fawn. It is with heartfelt thanks to Critter Care for your wonderful work.

Much love from the family and friends of Jesse P. Lerichie.  XOXO

In Memory of Jim Campbell

February 10, 1942 - November 1, 2008

altJim was the eldest of 9 children born to James A and Eunice Campbell of Edmonton, Alberta. He lived all over Alberta and B.C. throughout his life. He was a very successful businessman who was retired when he died suddenly on a hunting trip. He was a kind man with a gentle heart. He was a son, big brother, lover, husband, father of 4 and fine friend to so so many people. He loved people and people loved him.

He had a great love for music, skiing, hunting, fishing, camping, gardening and just being out of doors. He volunteered at Campbell Valley Park in Langley, B.C. where he lived with his wife Diana. He loved animals and had many dogs. He was an old fashioned “family man” who always had a hug for you. His smile and laugh was infectious!

Those we love don’t go away
They walk beside us every day
Unseen, unheard, but always near
Still loved, still missed and very dear
